 This will depend on what fixture you’re dealing with, but toilets and sinks have a valve you can twist to stop the water flow. If you need to shut off something bigger, you’ll likely need to turn off your entire home or building’s water, so it’s important for you to know how to do this.  

 By shutting off the water heater, you’ll stop it from getting too hot and potentially bursting.   If your water heating system loses all its water supply, continuing to run can be dangerous to the equipment more importantly, people around!

 Carefully examine the area around the water leak.  If you can safely unplug anything that may come into path with the water. do so, then move it out of the way.  Never touch anything that is plugged in if there is standing water.  Instead either shut the power off at the breaker box, or wait for our Pro.  We'll take care of it all!
